Ellen's journey from a temp to an Account Manager

Introduction 

WCS is proud to announce the promotion of Ellen Humphries to Account Manager in the South West Sales Team. This significant milestone marks nearly five years of Ellen’s dedicated service and professional growth within the company.

Ellen joined WCS in 2019 as a temporary employee tasked with creating log books. Her commitment and talent quickly became apparent, leading to a permanent role within the Sales Desk team. By October 2022, she had progressed to Sales Desk Account Manager, managing her own contract base. Ellen’s new role as Account Manager comes as a natural next step in her career.

Reflecting on her journey, Ellen shared, "After completing my Zoology degree, I aimed to work in conservation. However, WCS offered more stability and career progression opportunities. Working in an office was preferable to standing in a field in the rain completing surveys."

Ellen’s rise through the ranks at WCS is attributed to her passion for learning and the unwavering support from her managers and colleagues. "My managers have supported me every step and pushed for me to grow in the industry, from training me up in sales desk and teaching me all things water hygiene to putting me forward as the Sales Desk Account Manager," she said. Ellen also praised her colleagues for their mentorship, particularly during her early days managing contracts heavy with swimming pool requirements.

Greg Robinson, Group Head of Sales, commended Ellen’s achievement: "Ellen looks after a vast number of smaller contracts and is looking forward to expanding her knowledge of the water hygiene and water treatment industries. She has already had a very good start in securing a new sampling contract with her current customer."

Outside of work, Ellen is a Scout Leader and cares for a variety of pets, showcasing her dedication and leadership both professionally and personally.
