On behalf of everyone at WCS Group, I hope this message finds you safe and well.

I know that we are all experiencing unusual and unchartered times and that many businesses in the UK are being affected in some way by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The work that we, at WCS Group, undertake on behalf of our customers, is defined as an essential service, which helps ensure that UK businesses and the Public Sector can continue to operate compliantly and without risk to health in regard to their water, air and waste management services. It is therefore critical that we continue to operate and do so in a Covid-safe way. We have therefore taken measures in line with Government guidelines to further safeguard both our staff and our customers. I can assure you that WCS Group will continue to deliver a high-quality level of products and services, whilst working with our clients to overcome any issues in a safe and secure way.

Throughout this coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, we have taken practical steps and implemented robust measures to ensure the welfare of our employees, sub-contractors and partners. I can confirm we follow guidance issued by the Government and representative agencies acting in the interests of public health. All our offices, factories and warehouses have been risk-assessed to identify, control and mitigate the spread of Covid-19, and we have implemented procedures in all workspaces to deliver Covid-safe environments, including (but not limited to):

  • Enhanced hygiene and welfare controls, including hand sanitiser stations at all entry and exit points as a minimum
  • Supporting NHS Test and Trace through the use of robust signing in procedures (including the NHS QR code within England and Wales)
  • Enabling and supporting those office-based staff who can effectively work from home to do so
  • Installing temperature checking facilities
  • Limiting and controlling visitors to the site, including deliveries
  • Establishing clear controls outlining maximum site/space capacities and the use of one-way or person-limited systems

We have also assessed the Covid-19 risks associated with the delivery of our products and services to our customers and I would like to give me assurances that we have enhanced controls in place to mitigate these, including (but not limited to):

  • Issuing additional and appropriate PPE to all staff visiting customer sites
  • Enforcing enhanced hygiene controls, including the use of hand sanitiser, frequent handwashing (where possible) and cleaning of equipment used at customer’s sites
  • Requiring all field staff to complete a Covid-19 point of work risk assessment prior to entering a client site

We will continue to monitor the situation and will implement any necessary changes based on emerging advice provided by the Government, public health agencies and industry bodies.

It is important to us that we play our part in supporting UK industry and the Public Sector during these unprecedented times. We will, therefore, provide free guidance on Legionella control and compliance, water treatment and water management during this pandemic. These are available through our LinkedIn pages or our website wcs-group.co.uk

Finally, I would like to express my thanks to our employees, and to all the other key workers across the country, who are making such an enormous contribution in these uncertain times.
