Management Accountant

Job Description: 

Location: Gloucester

MAIN OBJECTIVES:

  • Responsible for production of monthly management report pack (timing, content & accuracy) for WCS Group and Related companies
  • Improve timing, content & accuracy of both financial & management reporting
  • Responsible for financial year end audit packs & statutory reporting
  • Provide analytical support to the senior management team.

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prepare monthly management, departmental & group accounts
  • Produce ad hoc analysis reports for senior management when required
  • Liaise with Purchase Ledger & Sales Ledger to ensure accurate & timely cut-off
  • Liaise with other group companies to reconcile inter co. transactions and agree balances
  • Document & improve month-end procedures
  • Investigate & report on monthly operating results
  • Prepare monthly analyses of income, expenditure & profitability
  • Report on agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Prepare rolling cashflow forecasts
  • Prepare rolling profit and loss forecasts
  • Liaise with senior management team to produce annual budget packs
  • Monitor creditor and debtor ledgers to ensure accuracy of input
  • Oversee posting of transactions into Sage; through Creditors, Debtors, Bank & General Ledger, to ensure accurate & timely processing
  • Oversee debtor’s ledger to minimise overdue, doubtful & bad debt & maximise cash collection
  • Oversee creditors ledger to ensure suppliers are timely paid
  • Ensure Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed to a required standard
  • Travel to other offices for meetings as & when required
  • Assist with project work where required
  • Responsible for Vat treatment & integrity of Vat returns, as well as HMRC reporting

 

MANAGEMENT SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to provide detailed excel spreadsheet modelling for analysis & forecasting purposes
  • Ability to investigate, analyse & report on the fiscal & monetary impact of Senior Management Team plans
  • Business partnering as required
  • Ability to perform reviews of policies, procedures, systems, controls (financial & business) & partner with the Senior Management Team to suggest & implement improvement changes
  • Partner with Senior Management Team to assist their understanding of financial information produced

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The successful candidate will be a qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 2 years management accountants experience gained in industry,
